A great hike starts just off Ruxton Avenue in downtown Manitou Springs. Beautiful views of Pikes Peak, Williams Canyon, and the Garden of the Gods Park can be seen from this year-round trail, which sees a fair amount of foot and bike travel.

The Intemann Trail has been completed between the Pawnee Ave trailhead and the Crystal Park Road trailhead. For political reasons (a long story) this segment is called, and signed as, the Iron Mountain Trail. It goes up a small hill called Iron Mountain. The lower part is hand built and the upper section is machine-made. These parts are 30-36" tread, sustainably designed for hikers and mountain bikers, and It connects with existing bulldozed dirt roads that existed on the land before it was purchased by the city of Manitou Springs as an open space. Further east the trail connects with existing steep parts (including many steps) of the Intemann trail that crosses Crystal Park Road. It's a very nice trail.
