Larimer County Devil’s Backbone Trail

Larimer County: Devil’s Backbone Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Devil’s Backbone is a small section of the hogbacks found up and down the Front Range. The hogbacks are remnants of an ancient exposed seafloor that has been honed by the elements over thousands of years. It’s an easy, well-maintained trail right outside of Loveland on the way to Estes Park (Rocky Mountain National Park)."

What a great hike this time a year. There are a number of Aspen alone the way, got to walk through aspen leaves during a significant portion of the hike. It is a nice climb, with a great view as well.
