Devils Backbone Open Space Loop

Devils Backbone Open Space Loop Professional Review and Guide

"This is a great ride near the Devils Backbone hogback just west of Loveland. Excellent singletrack riding through hills filled with mahogany oak, cacti, and yuccas. The upper loop has great views to the east and west to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Continental Divide. Tread: 6.3 miles on singletrack and 0.2 mile on doubletrack."

"The unmistakable Devils Backbone on the outskirts of Loveland is a unique geologic treasure in Colorado. Impressive even from a distance, this row of vertical rocks is best seen up close to truly appreciate its rugged beauty.

This path, a loop with tails on both ends, gets within spitting distance of the backbone and is a great trail for a quick hike or run. The Devils Backbone area includes more than 2100 acres of open land obtained with support from area cities and landowners. As with Boulder County and its Parks and Open Space program, Larimer County has also enjoyed success setting aside lands for recreation and heritage uses."
