Arthur’s Rock

Arthur’s Rock Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Wonderful hiking in a beautiful state park just west of Fort Collins. This loop takes you up to Arthur’s Rock, traveling over beautiful flower-filled hills, with views to the east of Horsetooth Reservoir, south to Horsetooth Mountain Park, and east to. the plains.

A great wildlife hike and a good place to bring the family and enjoy all the activities this park has to offer. Note that the trail is rocky. From the trailhead go west past the restrooms and (very informative) kiosk on the Arthur’s Rock Trail. Cross a wood footbridge and head left across another footbridge and into a narrow gulch. Follow the narrow, rocky trail up through the mouth of the gulch."

Excellent views of Fort Collins but note that the location on the map is wildly inaccurate. Closest city is Fort Collins.

This is a good hike for serious beginners. It's more than a walk in the park, but short enough that my wife (who doesn't do much hiking) was able to summit without feeling like she'd been kicked half to death. Everything is well marked, pretty hard to screw this one up.
