Hagerman Pass

Hagerman Pass Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"With three outstanding wilderness areas as a backdrop, Turquoise Reservoir serves as a focal point for a vast number of recreational activities. Many great hiking trails, including the Colorado Trail, crisscross the area. In addition, there are two historically significant railroad tunnels.

Known as the Charles H. Boustead Tunnel, it is four miles long and runs perpendicular to the other tunnels. If you visit this area around Memorial Day, you may have an opportunity to drive through deep snow tunnels at the summit. Fun ATV area. Plenty of seasonal wildflowers on the west side. Some embedded rock on each side of the pass but most of the road is wide and graded. Do not attempt to haul a boat trailer over the pass from either side."
