Hayden / Green Mountain Park

Hayden / Green Mountain Park Professional Review and Guide

"By offering smooth singletrack, beautiful views of Red Rocks Park and the Denver skyline, and a fast and sometimes rocky descent from the 6,800-foot summit, Hayden/ Green Mountain Park is sure to please.

It makes for a great introduction to mountain biking. Due to its proximity to Denver, the park can be crowded on weekends. During the spring and early summer riding season, Green Mountain is blanketed with wildflowers. Terrain: Mostly smooth singletrack with some varying rocky sections. Dirt roads lead to the top and extend across the summit of Green Mountain."

I can only write about the easy half of this trail. I wasn’t acclimated coming from Michigan just the day before and got unusually tired so I turned back instead of finishing the whole loop. This is a wide open area fun to cruise on trail running. The section I was on is very close to major roadways so there was always sights and sounds of cars.
