Bear Creek Lake Loop

Lakewood, Colorado

Bear Creek Lake Loop Professional Review and Guide

"A quick trail ride close to Denver, with dashes of tough climbing and speedy singletrack. Bear Creek Lake Park is a good spot for beginners to work on their off-road skills and for advanced riders to satisfy their need for after-work dirt.

Bear Creek Lake is one of three big reservoirs around the metro area that were created as a result of flood control dams, the other two being Chatfield and Cherry Creek. Had it not been appropriated for potential flooding emergencies, most of the area comprising Bear Creek Lake Park would almost certainly have been developed into the same typical suburbia that surrounds the park today. So in some sense you can thank floods for today’s ride."
