"Despite the steepness of the ascent, there are great views east and west along the park from several points near the top of the trail. Once the run is finished, be sure to wander back to the Bastille or to any crags along the north side of the canyon to watch rock climbers. Grade: Intermediate, with a steep ascent from the beginning of the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail to the site of the former Crags Hotel. Of particular concern is the descent of the Rattlesnake Gulch loop trail located above the Crags Hotel site, which is full of loose rock."
