Meyer Ranch Park Loop

Meyer Ranch Park Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Roxborough State Park is a land of red rock slabs sticking up like upside-down spear points. The Fountain Valley Trail provides a close-up view of the rocks and the historic Persse Place. The South Rim Trail circles Roxborough?s south end, winding through Gambel oak past some of the huge rocks.

Crossing over grassland and past ponderosa pines, it ascends a ridge for an almost aerial view of the interesting rock formations. The geology is easy to see and examine from the ridge. Skyscrapers to the north form a contrasting backdrop to the natural ?buildings? of the tilted rocks."

"This picturesque route includes forested areas full of aspen, and in the Spring and Summer an array of wildflowers are present including Columbines and Indian paintbrush. Due to the number of trails listed, just remember to take all right turns. Grade: Moderate, with a 5 degree average angle of ascent. The trail is well-maintained, with few rocks."
