Bonny Lake Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This 1,900-surface acre reservoir sits in the wide valley of the South Fork of Republican River north of Interstate 70 near the Kansas border.

In May and June, walleyes up to 12 pounds, with an average size range of 7.5 to 10 pounds, can be caught on worms or worm harnesses. Later in the summer, they can be taken with crankbaits, Rapala Shad Raps, or ThunderSticks along the face of the dam. Wipers run from 6 to 10 pounds and can be caught by searching out boiling schools of shad and throwing shad imitations into the turbulent water.

Key Species: Walleye, wiper, white bass, catfish."
