"This interesting hike makes a rolling loop through part of the Deer Haven Ranch, managed by the Bureau of Land Management to preserve its natural values and provide recreational opportunities.

The trail winds through ponderosa pines, Douglas firs, and meadows. Open areas, including a side trip to Thompson Point, provide nice views of Pikes Peak, the Wet Mountains, and the Sangre de Cristo Range."

A nice hike that isn't very difficult. This can be a good early season training hike as it is clear of snow much earlier than much of the high country. Some nice views along the way and I did see a nice tom turkey.
