"A small section of public land on Glade Park above the Colorado National Monument is managed by the Grand Mesa National Forest. It’s situated in a beautiful aspen grove at 8,400 feet in elevation and it’s a great place to escape the summer heat in the Grand Valley below. This trail begins with a small climb through a lush aspen forest before angling through a transition zone of aspen and spruce. Wildflowers are abundant throughout this area for most of the late spring and summer. All along this trail, you should see elk prints and deer track. You may also stumble upon a blue grouse or wild turkey." Read more
