East Shore Trailhead Shadow Mountain Lake and Ranger Meadows Balloon

East Shore Trailhead: Shadow Mountain Lake and Ranger Meadows Balloon Professional Review and Guide

"This will be a favorite trail. If not for the beauty of the forested landscape along the lake or the tall grasses and wildflowers of Ranger Meadows, you will be most impressed by the lack of other hikers and the pristine paths. The trail crosses the boundary between Rocky Mountain National Park and the National Forest Service; a difference between the two is not significant."

Being from the east coast the elevation hit us at a few points. The view are spectacular! Lots of wildlife tracks made it a little nerve-wracking but we only came across a huge mule deer bull that didn’t want anything to do with us. Great to see the tower at the top! Super 360 views!
