Golden Gate Canyon State Park Professional Review and Guide
"What a beautiful State Park. This well known loop is designed for the rider who wants some challenging, technical descents and climbs with some easy cruising sprinkled in along the way. The technical difficulty is often psychology, since lush growth along Deer Creek often obstructs your visibility making quick reflexes a definite asset. One note, trails in the park can be obstructed early in the biking season with snow. Try this trail in mid-to-late June when the wildflowers are at their best. Terrain: Smooth and sandy hardpack, loose rocks, stream crossings."
