Golden Gate Canyon Loop

Golden Gate Canyon Loop Professional Review and Guide

"A beautifully scenic run, not only because of the wildlife you are bound to encounter, but the aspen, wildflowers and peak views are spectacular as well. Do be careful though as the trail consistency changes constantly.

Running this trail requires vigilance. Grade: Rolling, with a number of short, steep ascents. The trail is an odd mixture of excellent, smooth single track surface and rough, rutted track. This can be a surprisingly difficult run."

I like Golden Gate. We live nearby, and it's an easy day trip. The park itself is well laid out, the trails are well maintained, and there are several nice loops for hiking and backpacking. I particularly like it in the winter. On the down side, except for the odd bird, I have NEVER seen any wildlife there. I'm assured there is wildlife there, but in the many multiple trips there - NADA.
