Cache La Poudre River, Big South Trail Segment Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This section begins at the Big South trailhead, where Highway 14 diverges from paralleling the river, and the river runs for 16 miles to its headwaters in Rocky Mountain National Park. The lower section contains a series of cascades and plunge pools, which all but dictates that this stretch be fished well after runoff.
The upper section is a classic small meadow stream. Key Species: Greenback cutthroat trout, brown trout, rainbow trout, brook trout."
