This hike heads west from the visitor center past some interesting ecological communities to Boulder Creek.

Like most routes within Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, the hike to Boulder Creek begins at the visitor center—the facility’s back door, to be exact. From here, walk through the outdoor exhibit area."

The first portion of this trail is through meadows, then you hjt the Boulder Creek, which is pretty a cool set of huge boulders you can climb around on. The second portion of the hike is uphill through pine forests. The shade is welcome!
