Newlin Creek Trail

Newlin Creek Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Newlin Creek Trail wanders up a narrow canyon following the remains of an old logging road. Due to floods and deterioration, it’s tough to tell that this trail was once a road. Rocky cliffs loom over the trail in spots, while little waterfalls and cascades dance down the creek.

After crossing one wooden bridge, the trail crosses the creek numerous times on logs and rocks. The most interesting features of this hike lie in the destination meadow. An old steam boiler, flywheel, and chimney are all that remain of a sawmill operation."

This was my first hike of the season and a good one to start off the season. We took the whole family as a Father’s Day activity and it was a great day. The trail was in good condition and well suited for the whole family. Enjoyed the history associated with the trail as well as the wild flowers.
