Lead Mountain

Lead Mountain Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This beautiful, airy ridge is a great scramble that will keep you on your toes. The rock is solid, and the views are phenomenal. An optional loop to Mount Cirrus adds to the fun.

Lead Mountain has one of the premier ridge walks in the state. The exposed, airy, class 3 traverse is short, but it certainly gets your attention. Rock is solid for the most part. Those hikers uncomfortable with hanging out on the spine have the option to drop down slightly to the south side, where terrain is less exposed. The Never Summer Range is a special treat for hikers looking to get away from the crowds. The loop over to Mount Cirrus may be Colorado’s best class 3 route that’s not in the Grenadiers!"
