Hollowell Park Trailhead: Mill Creek Balloon Professional Review and Guide
"Loop hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park are rare, so this small balloon hike is a nice change of pace. The fall colors along the Mill Creek Basin are striking because of the patches of aspens that make their home here. Novice hikers will appreciate the scenery and the ease of this trail. Seasoned hikers like this trail for its access to other areas of the park, its beauty, and the surprising lack of crowds even with the proximity to the park entrance. Leave the trailhead and enter into the meadow where dry grasses are framed by views of the surrounding moraines. The trail is sandy and dusty, yet smooth and level. If there is no rain, hikers will kick up a lot of dust onto their hiking boots in this section."
