Hallett Peak

Hallett Peak Professional Review and Guide

"Hallett Peak is the most prominent pointy peak dominating the western skyline viewed from Estes Park. The classic pointed summit of Hallett Peak is obvious from far away, but as you travel closer the peak appears even more pointed and very different in shape. The dramatic view from the Bear Lake area is of a false summit, which appears remarkably less spectacular when viewed from Hallett’s actual top.

The climb up Hallett is very straightforward and simple. Starting at Bear Lake, follow the trail right around the lake, pausing occasionally to make what likely will be the best photos of the mountain; include glacially deposited boulders in the lake in the foreground."
