Mount Thomas Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Mount Thomas summit, a bump on Red Table Mountain, offers a spectacular 360-degree panorama of the central Colorado Rockies. Overwhelming views stretch from the Maroon Bells and Elk Mountains in the southwest, circling northwest to the Flat Tops, then north toward I-70 and Eagle.

The Gore Range rises in the northeast, with the Sawatch Mountains towering in the east and southeast. Beautiful alpine wildflowers decorate the upper ridges. The trail traverses an open ridge for about 1.6 miles, so be sure to make the summit and be heading down before thunderstorms hit."
