Upper Dolores River Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This is a classic freestone river draining Lizardhead Pass. From its headwaters to the town of Rico, the river is productive. Mining pollution below Rico and lack of stocking limit fishing to small brookies until just outside Dolores.
From the end of runoff to fall, use small Stimulators, Humpies, RoyalTrudes, terrestrials, red or gold Mepps spinners, or worms to haul in up to 10-inch cutthroat.
Key Species: Cutthroat trout."
