Homestead Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This aspen-lined trail can be covered as a loop or an out-and-back. Either way you enjoy a fairly hilly trail along the way that rolls, heading mostly downhill on the way out and uphill on the return, and have good views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
At the trailhead you see several options, with statistics listed for each. When you start from the campground entry area, go gradually downhill and immediately see the Revenuer's Ridge Trail traversing the ridge off to the left. It looks like a hiking trail, while the Homestead Trail is so wide that it looks more like a service road. If it is a clear day, the Sangre Cristo Mountains are visible in the distance peeking through the trees."
