Dinosaur National Monument: Echo Park Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The drive down Sand Canyon into Echo Park will amaze you. The scenery at Echo Park will stun you. Rough going on the roads is both a blessing and a curse. The thick dust keeps out a lot of campers, and this is one place where you will never, ever see an RV, unless its driver is demented.

The Green River will lure you to its banks, but the swift current can make swimming hazardous. Fishing is negligible for channel catfish, which inhabit the stained waters. The photographic opportunities are numerous."

this campground has as much beauty and quiet as car-camping in colorado can find, as well as a scenic and easy trail. the only "easy" trail I've done in CO because it is level, yet opens to views. a nice warm up in the morning. can't ask for more in a campground.
