Wyman Historic District and Uptown Professional Review and Guide
"As Denver grew out from downtown and water pipes were laid to the east in the 1880s, homes were built along the city’s best corridors and along side streets nearby. Colfax Avenue was a place of wealthy citizens in large and stunning mansions back then. Today’s modern Wyman Historic District is bisected by the far less-glamorous Colfax Avenue that has long since changed and lost most of its original architecture and residential homes. On this walk you will see a sweet slice of the Wyman Historic District on the north side of Colfax Ave. In just a few charming blocks in the heart of the city you will see a small selection of homes from that bygone era before the Silver Crash of 1893 that so changed Denver, including a castle-like inn that has been restored to that time period. Whether or not you choose to stay the night there, you can make an evening of it in this neighborhood with your pick of some of Denver’s best restaurants."
