Denver–Golden Cruise

Denver–Golden Cruise Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Find your way from Confluence Park in lower downtown Denver to the town of Golden, 12 miles west. This route uses accommodating cycling roads to slice through Denver to the 32nd Avenue corridor. Terrain: After climbing out of the Platte Valley, this route is virtually flat, with one short hill on 32nd Avenue between Simms and Youngfield Streets.

Traffic and hazards: This route uses accommodating cycling roads when possible, but 32nd Avenue is heavily traveled and lacks a comfortable shoulder for the most part. It is, however, a very popular bike route. The trip through Denver features wide curb lanes, but constant intersections."

The ride was fun, but now that it is possible to do most of this ride using paved bike trails, I'm much more interested in getting a complete, online map of the Denver, Wheat Ridge and Golden bike trails. It seems the information in this guide is way out of date and sorely in need of revision. I'm glad I got it on a free trial and wasn't paying a membership fee yet. This may discourage me from going ahead and subscribing.
