Aurora Reservoir Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Aurora Reservoir is an 820-acre impoundment in the suburb of Aurora. Key Species: Wiper, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, brown trout, walleye, panfish.
An estimated 76,000 10-inch rainbow trout were stocked in this reservoir in 2000, and similar numbers will likely continue to be planted here. The ones that survive the first year will be smart but can still be caught by using lures and bait from the bank or by trolling deep. Wipers range from 8 to 12 pounds and in the spring are vulnerable near the shoreline as they forage for minnows."
