Starvation Pass

Starvation Pass Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trail features stunning views, an array of wildflowers, and the opportunity to see wildlife.

There is a Weminuche Wilderness sign and a well-defined (though unsigned) trail south of the parking area at the end of the road. Hike on this trail into the trees. Moderate-to-steep switchbacks lead the way for 0.9 mile. You’ll emerge from the trees to terrific views. These
continue as you climb the sometimes steep grade to the top of Starvation Pass at 2.2 miles. From here you’ll see high peaks all around you. Look south to West Ute Lake, northwest to Stony Pass."
