Reynolds Park Open Space Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Tucked away in Kennedy Gulch, this prime piece of open space is about 6 miles south of the town of Conifer. As in other open space areas in Jefferson County, the trails are maintained and marked. A stiff climb to the Eagle’s View Trail leads to a spectacular overlook of the South Platte area and panoramic views to the east, west, and south."

North Fork Trail - 9.4 miles, 4600'. One long descent headed south, then climbing back up, or be smart (not like me!) and park at the south end and start with the climb. The trail is newly refurbished, well signed and the views are amazing. This trail just re-opened to bikes last year, it doesn't get a lot of use yet and with all the rain it is a bit overgrown. Technically it's easy, aerobically it is bruital! A long, long, steady climb. Generally not too steep, it just seems to never end. The climb up from the north parking lot is one of the steepest trails I have ridden anywhere.

Always a very pretty hike no matter the season... Very good trail for the kiddies. No bikes allowed which always makes it more relaxing. The views from the Eagles View are truly spectacular.

Lots of snow. Relatively easy 2 miles to Eagles view with great view of Pikes from the top.

My hiking buddy and I enjoyed the hike, especially the two geochache sites located on Chief Mountain. The 360 degree view at the top is spectacular. The day was cloudy and somewhat stormy, which made for some great photographs. A hungry chipmunk at the summit added to our pleasure. We're used to more rigorous hikes in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, but thoroughly enjoyed Cheif Mountain as a change of pace. The "On The Edge" duo, Jim and Dennis

Great hike and views. Please note - the driving directions say the trail head is 12.1 miles along the road to mt. evans. it is actually closer to 15 miles and can be most easily spotted by the ski lift on the opposite side of the road from the trailhead.
