Raven’s Roost and Oxen Draw Loop-Reynolds Park

Raven’s Roost and Oxen Draw Loop-Reynolds Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Arguably incorporating the most strenuous climb in this guide, this remote-feeling loop also follows a small mountain stream shaded by quiet woodland.

The Raven’s Roost and Oxen Draw Trails climb into the upper reaches of one of Jefferson County’s more secluded open space parks. Overlooking Kennedy Gulch, the high point on the Raven’s Roost Trail offers views down the narrow mountain valley. Raven, eagle, or human, the views (not to mention the steep climb up to them) invite you to rest a spell. By contrast the Oxen Draw is dark and moist, and the trail through it crosses the seasonal stream time and
time again, as though rambling oxen had indeed picked the route."
