Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Explore a historic homestead, gardens, exhibits, farm fields, and wildland along Deer Creek on this family-friendly route. This outpost of the Denver Botanic Gardens, located at the base of the foothills, is a wonder. It packs so many amenities into such a small space (only 750 acres) you’d think it would be claustrophobic.
That couldn’t be further from reality. Yes, a web of trails leads to farm fields, ponds, native plant gardens, sculptures, a historic homestead still used for crop and animal husbandry, a one-room schoolhouse, picnic greens, and more, but they also wind through a virtually pristine riparian zone along Deer Creek."
