Talon Loops—Cheyenne Mountain State Park Professional Review and Guide
"From prairie grasslands through oak shrublands to montane forests, a loop on the Talon, North Talon, and South Talon trails provides a sampling of Cheyenne Mountain State Park’s variety. At 9,565 feet, Cheyenne Mountain towers above you to the west. Various raptors, including peregrine falcons, prairie falcons, and golden eagles, soar overhead.
Interpretive signs along the way explain the park’s many features. One overlook with a bench is a great place for lunch as you enjoy an outcrop of pink Pikes Peak granite. The hike crosses an interesting rock ?n on North Talon before looping through thick forest on South Talon and returning back to Talon."
