Perimeter Loop

Perimeter Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Starting on a wide pathway signed as Bobcat Cutoff, this route is flat and smooth to start, and transitions to rolling and rocky terrain requiring focus to avoid tripping on loose rock. Connect with the Pine Ridge Trail, cresting a hill and turning east on singletrack, meeting up with Popes Valley Trail. Eventually join with the Yucca Path Trail to complete this counterclockwise loop.

The surfaces vary from loose and sandy to smooth rock, and include double-and singletrack trails. The majority of the route is in the open, with little shade. The views on the upper reaches of the trail are outstanding, and include Pikes Peak and the foothills to the west, and the city of Colorado Springs to the east. Several benches are strategically placed in the park to indicate the most scenic vistas."
