The road to the Huron Peak trailhead is rough. Plenty of parking. SUVs and trucks should manuever the road w/o any problems. From the start of the 4x4 road, it takes 20 minutes to get to the trailhead. From the trailhead to the Browns/Huron Peak basin (just above treeline), I counted 17 switchbacks. Once on the basin, the trail levels out w/ Huron Peak to your right and rocky mountains all around. Beautiful views as you hike towards the tough part of the trail. The last stretch of the trail is very tough! You have about 1,300 feet of uphill climbing via strenuous switchbacks. The last 200 feet scrambles up a scree field. Well-defined trail and the views are worth the pain! Amazing. You can see La Plata, Elbert, Maroon Bells, Capitol, Taylor Reservoir, Leadville, and the great Arkansas Valley. Good luck!
