A nice trail 5 minutes from Aspen. It never opens up much; most is shaded by beautiful aspen and evergreens. You don't really get a full-on view of Aspen. A bonanza of wild raspberries along most of the trail in late summer; by now they were all gone. There are some pretty steep rocky segments, so this isn't an easy trail, but my 60+ y/o wife made it without too much difficulty. The end is anticlimactic - just a sign saying "Trail maintenance ends here" in the middle of nowhere, and the old cabin remains are barely distinguishable from fallen trees all around - just 1-2 courses of logs at one or two corners, and small piles of rusted tin cans around them. So don't expect spectacular vistas, as in the Maroon Belles, just a nice walk in the woods and up a mountain, 3-4 hours roundtrip, depending on your speed.

Trails.com is appalling. They want $50 which they tell you about AFTER you sign up. Losers!

Amazing. Beautiful scenery. Loved it. Now I need to fill up the rest of the required 50 letters because I don't have anything else to say.
