Hayden Pass Trail

Hayden Pass Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The road initially travels through the ranch land of the San Luis Valley before starting its ascent toward the pass. The route is easy to navigate but has a few sections, mainly on the east side, that are steep and quite rough and require high clearance.

It travels through pine forest most of the way but provides some good views along the route, particularly the sweeping views back down across the San Luis Valley.

Special Attractions: One of the few 4WD trails in the Sangre de Cristo Range; Varied 4WD route with good views, particularly of the San Luis Valley; Can be combined with South-Central Trail across Medano Pass to form a loop."
