Midland Railway Rambler Professional Review and Guide
"Buena Vista is a friendly river, mining, and railroad town in the Arkansas Valley. Though the Arkansas River draws at least 100,000 rafters and kayakers a year and the adjacent Collegiate Peaks are some of the state's highest and grandest, the town is surprisingly free of tourist-trap attitude.
There's only one traffic light, and motels outnumber B&Bs by about fifty to one. The red-brick historic downtown is uncrowded and practically boutique-free. This ride takes in the valley's best views along with some railroad history. Surface: hard-packed dirt road, 1 mile of single-track, gravel county roads. Things to See: Presidential Range, Arkansas River, railroad remains."
