Cronin Peak Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Baldwin Gulch is most famous for its lone fourteener, Mount Antero. In the summer when the road is dry, this area is a mecca for off-roaders and hikers looking to tag an easy high peak. Few who venture into this region know that the area is a superb place to go after thirteener ski descents.
A short drainage to the north of Baldwin Gulch lends the aspiring ski mountaineer numerous options for noteworthy descents on a number of underrated peaks. At the forefront of these options is Cronin Peak (formerly known as North Carbonate), the resident Centennial, and its prominent Northeast Face. If you have ever slogged up the congested jeep road toward Antero, eyed a beautiful face out to the west, and thought to yourself, I’d much rather be on that peak! then you were probably looking at Cronin."
