Wheeler Mountain Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Blue Lakes Reservoir area is home to a number of descents ranging in difficulty from moderate to extreme. You’ve got a little bit of everything, with the popular, wide-open Cristo Couloir on Quandary, an aesthetic, long chute on the north face of Northstar, Fletcher’s broad southeast face, and the technical Northeast Face on Wheeler.

With easy access to all of these, Blue Lakes is certainly a diverse drainage. Wheeler Mountain takes residence in the Tenmile Range roughly 2 miles southwest of Quandary Peak. Wheeler is not a fourteener; in fact, it is not even a Centennial, so it sees significantly less traffic than its loftier neighbors."
