Atlantic Peak

Atlantic Peak Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Atlantic Peak is located in the Tenmile Range roughly 1.5 miles northwest of Quandary Peak. Like many Tenmile Range mountains, Atlantic is very easy to access and offers up excellent bang for your buck climbing and skiing. Though not as steep or difficult as neighboring Pacific Peak’s North Couloir, Atlantic’s V Couloir (located on the east side of the mountain) is a superb moderate ski line that holds good snow late into the season. Though relatively short, the V drops off Atlantic’s summit plateau in dramatic fashion, providing 700 feet of high 30- to low 40-degree couloir skiing.

From the base of the line, it is possible to ski to within a few hundred feet of your car depending on conditions. This line is perfect for a half-day tour as it can be done in 6 to 8 hours round-trip from the gate. If you are spring-couloir hunting along the I-70 corridor and only have a small amount of time to play with, consider checking out the V Couloir on Atlantic."
