Walker Ranch Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This route offers excellent views, particularly along the ridgeline near the end of the run. The trail also parallels beautiful South Boulder Creek for a short stretch beginning at about mile 1.0. It is an extremely popular trail, especially with mountain bikers, so just be heads up. As a trail runner on this route, you are in the minority.
Grade: Do not let the short mileage fool you- this is a hard trail, and is well worth its "difficult" rating. There are two long uphill ascents, as well as lots of rocks, cliffs, and even deep sandy patches that will make you think you are running on a beach. Be careful and pay attention to your footing at all times."
