The River Wall is a small but excellent granite outcrop along the North St. Vrain River northwest of Boulder. The compact 80-foot-high cliff, sometimes called “the best little crag in Colorado,” offers a surprising number of superb routes. Expect fractured overhanging walls, steep slabs, finger cracks, sharp edges, and arm-pumping jug haul routes. The routes are divided between bolt-protected sport climbs and trad routes that require competence at placing gear.
