Detailed Trail Descriptions from Our Guidebooks

"This is an appropriately named trail—walk a nearly 4-mile loop in a wide- open valley with views of red rock outcroppings, mountains, and sky. This natural area is home to most of the Front Range’s most exciting wildlife, including mountain lions, bears, and its namesake bobcats. As soon as you pull into the driveway of Bobcat Ridge Natural Area, you get a sense of its recent history as a farmstead. Many of the buildings related to its farming and ranching still exist, and the oldest cabin dates back to the nineteenth century. It is undoubtedly more fun to hike or ride this land than to farm it. Your fellow trail users include equestrians and mountain bikers, but no dogs because they disturb the abundant wildlife that calls this place home—from elk and bears to skunks and, of course, bobcats."
