Pine River / Flint Creek Semiloop

Pine River / Flint Creek Semiloop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Hike this semiloop, known also as a lollipop, and you’ll enjoy scenic lakes, wildflowers, and wildlife. If all you want is a day hike, just travel along Pine River as far as you wish to go. If you want to do the hike described here, which is much recommended, then head into the high country for a few days and more than 5,000 feet of vertical gain.

Enter through a private gate (please close it behind you) adjacent to Granite Peaks Ranch. This is private property, but hikers are allowed if they stay on the trail (no camping). Aspens, ponderosa pines, and a variety of conifers will keep you company as you gradually ascend along Pine River Trail 523. You’ll see the Pine River, also known as Los Pinos, off to the east as you begin. Later trees and ranch sounds block the view and river sounds."
