Lake Eileen Trail

Lake Eileen Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Wildflowers and nice views make this day hike a wonderful outing. And if you’re fortunate, you may see some ducks in the lake as well.

Lake Eileen Trail 668 begins as a moderate climb up a side slope, but watch out for some steeper sections. You’ll no doubt notice that the slope was previously burned in the Missionary Ridge Fire of 2002. You enter the wilderness almost immediately, and as you gain more than 1,000 feet in elevation via switchbacks, notice the view. You’ll see down to the Chain Lakes, and off in the distance, to the north, you’ll see more of the Weminuche Wilderness."
