There are spectacular views of the mountain peaks and lakes here! This is a pretty easy to moderate (gradual up and down terrain) trail with excellent views and lots of animals. We spotted marmots and elk. It is pretty rocky, so good shoes are a must, and so is a windbreaker because it gets windy. Gorgeous hike!

The Ute trail is an easy access trail right from the town of aspen. We stayed at the Gant resort. I am a Mom who is always looking for a trail I can do with short time on vacation. This was satisfying and fun! Up Up and away!

I am a 50 years old female & haven't hiked since I was a kid. All I can say is Amazing, Amazing, Amazing, but you have to be mentally tough. It is worth the hard effort, but you won't know it until you get to the top. Have good balance & be careful. So glad I did this. The view at the top is just unbelievable. I'm shocked there are no reviews posted. However, it seems like for the people of Aspen it's a way of life.

This is a busy trail with great views at the end. You can continue up to the top of Aspen mountain and take the gondola down for free. We did this and it took us about three hours to get to the top, including a few rest stops and a break for lunch. One woman we met did it in an hour and a half so it depends on your fitness level. The trail tends to go straight up the mountain so it can be fairly steep. Enjoy your hike!
