Sayres Benchmark Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"As we mentioned before, the CO 82 corridor holds a plethora of skiing potential, from Twin Lakes to Aspen. With avalanche path “road shots” sprouting up from the valley floor around each bend, it can be tough to keep your eyes on the road while driving the windy stretch up Independence Pass. Sayres Benchmark, on the other hand, is far from a road shot.

It is a subtle peak, hidden deep downvalley behind the massive armchair that is fourteener La Plata Peak. Sayres rises straight out of the valley’s head, standing tall and proud, waiting in anticipation for anyone courageous enough to step beyond the beaten path and explore its flanks."
