Traveling the entire trail is 7.4 miles with a total elevation gain of 3,078 feet. The Grays Peak Trailhead parking is near the trailhead. There are also restrooms and an information map. The Eagles Nest Mine (elevation 12,654 feet) quarry can be seen along the trail. The trail ends near Grays Peak (elevation 14,268 feet).
