Elk Creek-Valle Victoria Semiloop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This long semiloop is a real treasure and is especially gorgeous in the late summer and early fall, when the aspens are gold. Wildlife is abundant in the Elk Creek drainage; you may see bald eagles, beavers, elk, and other species. Up high, on the Continental Divide Trail (CDT), there are see-forever views, and as you descend the Rough Creek drainage, there are endless meadows and dark forests.
After signing in at the trail register, begin hiking Elk Creek Trail 731. Descend to Elk Creek and cross it via a sturdy bridge. The trail turns and travels west soon after the crossing. (You’ll see a trail to the right that leads about 0.5 mile to the Elk Creek Campground.)"
